Large Format Screen Print

Image Options is thrilled to introduce their newest print solution – the Thieme 5-Color In-Line Screen Press. This press has a 64″ x 94″ printable area and prints direct to substrates up to 3/16″ thick with UV inks.

According to Wikipedia, “Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas.”

Recyclable Retail Graphics and Reporting

As a SGP certified wide format printer, Image Options is doing its part for the environment and is excited to be part of DuPont’s authorized printer network.

DuPont provides a LifeCycle Based Solution with Tyvek® media for wide format banners, displays and bags. Tyvek®, is known for its lightweight strength, outstanding printability and drapeability. It is a substrate that can be recycled into park benches, landscape materials, drainage pipes and much more.

“Being able to produce very attractive retail signage for our customers makes us happy, but what makes us even more happy is being able to offer our customers a closed loop recycling program,” said Tim Bennett, CEO of Image Options. “The graphics get produced on a recyclable material, the graphics are shipped with a recycling kit for the used graphics, the kit has prepaid postage to the recycling center and reports can be generated to show your recycling effort. You can now deliver results from your sustainability efforts with this simple process.”

In addition to retail signage, shopping bags can be made from the Tyvek material.

The Waste Management recycle kit is a Tyvek® envelope that is 12” x 16” and expands to a 4” depth to hold over 250 square feet of Tyvek® material. It comes with prepaid postage too!

Before the Tyvek is recycled into another product, it is turned into tiny little pellets.

The EFI VUTEk GS3250LX Printer

Image Options newest digital printing device is the EFI VUTEk GS3250LX UV-curing digital inkjet printer, it is the latest of the GS Series of printers. The GS3250LX incorporates ”cool cure” LED technology which allows us to expand our range of substrates and print on materials without warping. Capable of producing 55 4′ x 8′ sheets per hour we can increase productivity and produce jobs more efficiently than ever before. The combination of LED technology, lower energy consumption and no harmful VOCs will allow you to keep your print projects greener!

Image Options Acquires ICP West’s Assets

Image Options is extremely pleased to announce the acquisition of the assets of ICP West which include a Thieme 5 color 64″ x 100″ in-line screen press and substantial finishing equipment. Separately, Image Options signed a new long term lease on the spectacular 50,000 sq/ft facility and will consolidate it’s existing digital facility into the building by July. The new facility will be one of the most advanced digital and screen print facilities in the country consisting of six Vutek printers, two LightJets, DuPont dye sublimation, four Epson printers, HP TurboJet, two iCut CNC machines and substantial fabrication and finishing capabilities.

Image Options is G7 Certified

Image Options is now a G7 Certified large format printer. Managed by IDEAlliance, G7 is a standard for matching color across multiple devices and medias. This means that when you supply a proof to Image Options or they make a proof for you, they will match the color of the final output to the original printed proof, even if you have prints coming off of different devices and medias. Are you using multiple print vendors across the nation or world for your print campaign? As long as they are G7 Certified, you can be confident that all your pieces will be consistent in color.

Image Options has over 10 different large format printers and outputting consistent color across those platforms has its challenges.
